Viet Nam Gold Trading Association (VGTA) asked the State Bank of Viet
Nam to allow local producers of gold jewelry and fine art to import gold
materials.
Viet Nam Gold Trading Association (VGTA) chairman, Nguyen Thanh Long,
asked the central bank and the Ministry of Finance to set up a national
gold trading floor to mobilise gold from local people.
The Viet Nam Gold Business Association (VGTA) asked the Ministry of
Finance (MoF) on November 12 to maintain the export duty on gold
jewellery at zero per cent.
Increasing the localisation rate would be one measure that could reduce
enterprises'' reliance on imported raw materials, according to
independent market watchdogs.
Concern has spread amongst jewellery traders just five days before Viet
Nam is due to apply its first quality management system for domestic
gold jewellery.
